While visiting Maui this past time we drove out here to this plantation. It was a fun little excursion me and the family went on. They had a tour of the plantation on a bus. It was scenic and educational. You can get lots of pictures of the surrounding mountains as well. I don't remember the length of the tour. It wasn't so long that my kid got bored, but long enough that I felt like it was worth the money. We were travelling with our 5 year old and he remained interested. You see what they grow, pineapples, mangoes etc. My kid really enjoyed it. The bus stopped a couple of times to see a demonstration and sucha and we even got to taste some of the fruits. They also had a Zip Line Tour, we didn't try it but it looked fun from seeing others participating. This place is for tourists but it is a way to see another piece of this beautiful island.
This was going to just be a quick stop we thought, as it didn't look like much from the front, but we ended up spending a fair amount of time here looking at all the beautiful plants, animals, and the architecture. They used a bunch of the old machinery parts to make sculptures in some really inventive ways. Walking around the grounds it seemed like every turn you took gave you something new and awesome to look at. This was defiantly worth the stop.
The best food, scenery and service! We went for our first dinner on the island and our last, both times were amazing. We had Jacob as our server both times as well and he was awesome, we really enjoyed the conversation as well as his knowledge of the menu. Can't wait to go back to visit!
My family of 8 and I had a wonderful time at this plantation. They had lots of various tropical plants and colorful flowers. We went on their guided tour through the plantation. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the plantation's operations, their various plants, and history background to each of the plants. We also seen a lot of wild chickens, ducks, and fish. At the plantation's site, they had a farmer's market, gift shop, a restaurant area, and some history photos of how the plantation came to be what it is now. This is a place worth visiting and enjoying!
This is a very laid back experience. It was great for our Grandpa who can't walk very well. They had a wheelchair for him to use and he was able to ride the tram to do the tour easily. The area is super beautiful and the restaurant is very good as well. Highly recommend of you've been doing a lot of hiking, surfing, zip lining, etc. and want a break from the activities.
