The best way to whale watch on Maui!

FROM DECEMBER TO APRIL. Experience the world of Maui's humpback whales on a beautiful sailing catamaran with limited passengers so you can avoid the crowds.  This is the best all-around whale watch around...an unforgettable experience not to be missed.

On this two-hour whale watch, we are dedicated to sharing insightful information about the endangered Humpback Whale and its habitat through our on-board naturalists. Our goal is to give the guest a meaningful encounter with these magnificent creatures without disturbing their behavior and following the Sanctuary Whale Watching guidelines. We have hydrophones (weather permitting) on board, so we are often able to hear the whales sing their incredible songs. Many guests comment that this was the best whale watching experience of their lives!

Sightings guaranteed! (If you do not see a whale, your next Whale Watch is on us!)

Our wide, comfortable, catamarans offer a stable viewing platform that makes this ocean experience safe for the whole family. And, unlike many of the large whale watching boats that take up to 149 passengers, we limits the number of guests to 30-40 so everyone has a front row seat. And with convenient boarding from world famous Kaanapali Beach, Lahaina Harbor, or Ma'alaea Harbor, this trip offers you the most direct route to some of the best whale watching in the world!

So, come join us for a personalized Whale Watch that leaves the crowds behind!

Includes
  • Onboard marine naturalist for your marine Maui and Humpback Whale education
  • Limited passenger count so you can avoid the crowds
  • 8:00am - Freshly Baked Cinnamon Rolls, Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwich, Tropical Fruit Platter

A portion of our Whale Watch tours go towards funding the Whale Sanctuary. The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary is dedicated to protecting the endangered Humpback Whale and its habitat. Trilogy was the first official sponsor of the Whale Sanctuary and has continued to be involved in supporting and promoting the Sanctuary's goals and efforts.

While in Maui in January, my wife and I booked a whale watching excursion with Trilogy. This was my first time doing an excursion like this, and I was a little nervous as i tend to get sea sick, but off we went. I was hoping to spot a whale or two, maybe from off in the distance, but what we got was one of the most unbelievable experiences in my life. First off, the boat was beautiful, it was SO much bigger than i thought it would be, it comfortably held the 30-40 people on the excursion, everyone had a great seat and great view. After boarding and getting the safety run down, the crew mentioned they had complementary sea-sickness solutions (dramamine and ginger root) for anybody who was worried. Score! Took that dramamine and was fine the whole ride. After we got going, it was nothing but whales for the 2 hours we were out, i couldnt believe how close we got (still within the legal range) but you could really see these beautiful creatures up close in their environment. The two main people you interact with were the captain who was driving the boat, and a whale expert who both were awesome, personable, and knowledgeable about whales and hawaii. THEY made the trip. While out on the water we saw another huge ferry looking whale tour that must of had 300 people on board, it was so loud and so crowded looking, it made me even more happy we selected Trilogy for this experience. It was so peaceful and beautiful. One last note, right as you leave harbor they offered complimentary cocktails and beer, and then a little over halfway through they offered some delicious snacks (chicken skewers and bruchetta) They were actually pretty delicious, much better than expected. Overall, I am absolutely hooked on trilogy. I cant wait to go back and try some of their other cruises, these guys are top notch.

This was the best whale watching tour ever! Trilogy captain and crew were fabulous! They are knowledgeable and all about making sure the passengers have a great experience. I loved being out on the catamaran; it brings you so much closer to the water than most of the other tours where you are on a big boat, crowded with people, far up above the water. The small group and more intimate feeling was just fantastic! I live in California & there are a few like this here who I always book with this reason. Highly recommend Trilogy for whale watching or any of their other charters. Great people, great company!

I have been on several whale watching trips with various companies out of Maui. We will now only use the Trilogy in the future. This was the best experience and not because of the best whale sightings we've had. The crew was awesome, they were knowledgeable about the whales, friendly and entertaining and the catamaran made it the easiest to view all around compared to some of the bigger boats we have been on where you can only see on one side.

This is my second time to use Trilogy for whale watching and loved it again. They are knowledgeable about whales and share their experience with enthusiasm. We did the 8am tour and they provided breakfast which included cinnamon rolls, juices and other mixed drinks, and egg croissants. Would choose them again and would recommend them for whale watching.

WE HAD A BLAST! If you are interested in trying snorkeling, don't start at the local beach. We tried that and found the waves were to much for us. On this cruise you'll get great service and they know where to go based on the weather and the ocean's conditions. We had a photographer on board, Aaron, and his shots we're fantastic. Don't bother bringing a underwater camera. Aaron took shots of my wife and I swimming together and added a bunch of great shots of us that I didn't know he was taking. We bought the package and it was well worth it. We had our mother in law with us and she had a great time too. Happy Swimming!

To celebrate Sue and my 50th Wedding Anniversary, our daughter booked a sunset dinner cruise on the Trilogy II last evening for us and visiting relatives from England. I say without reservation that it was the absolute best cruise any of us had ever experienced! The boat is incredibly smooth, the food and drink were first class and best of all, the crew were attentive, funny, and informative. Along the way, we experienced whales spouting and breaching, a beautiful sunset and an incredible bright full rainbow that passed through the moon! I know this all sounds too good to be true, but it really did happen. Thank you, Trilogy, you were awesome and made this a trip we will never forget.

The entire experience top to bottom was off the charts. Cool giant catamaran, great staff and picturesque destinations. I'm mean where else can you dive an extinct volcano and then go swim with green turtles through dead hollow lava tubes! You can find prettier coral in the Caribbean and other places - that's a reality - however it'll be hard to surpass the experience my wife and I had. All the boys were professional, courteous and friendly. You felt safe throughout the entire adventure, and they're was good food and drinks. Total package. Compleat blast, I've got a shirt and pics to prove it;)

Strongly recommend! The crew was knowledgeable and they love what they do. They made the trip so much fun. Even though I can't swim and ended up getting sick after the first snorkel spot. They were so caring and still made the trip worth it. They were also the nicest and best host ever. We had such a great time!

My husband and I had a wonderful time doing the sunset dinner cruise with Trilogy! The crew was so friendly and attentive! They played fun music, were quite generous on the drinks, and the food far exceeded my expectations! We had such a wonderful trip! Only wish it could have been longer.
