My husband and I booked the lanai day trip and left at 10 am. The crew of Captn Brian, Katie and Matthew were awesome. Attentive, educational and fun. The weather was terrific and the trip over great. We saw a school of spinner Dolphins as a bonus. The beach on lanai is beautiful and the snorkeling great. We had great visibility the day we were there. We opted out of the island tour to spend more time on the beach. There is a great walk up to the cliff and into the tidal pools. The BBQ was yummy and again the crew awesome. We sailed some on the way back to Lahaina but the conditions weren't the best so we motored most of the way but it doesn't matter as the ride is still wonderful. The sunset was gorgeous. And we saw a whale too! A GREAT day and we would do it again if we ever have the chance to return to Maui.
Our BFF's with my husband and I have taken several catamaran tours here on Maui and over on Kauai...this was by far the BEST trip we have been on! The crew of 3 wonderful people made our day very special! Captain Brian, Co-Captain Katie and Dive Master Matthew were friendly, easy to talk to and answered all our questions and encouraged us to be part of the day! We took the all day cruise leaving from Lahaina at 1000 am and from the moment we arrived to the time we were disembarked at around 6p, we were sad to have it end! We went over to the Island of Lanai where we snorkeled seeing beautiful fish and coral! The local expert was wonderful who provided the snorkel equipment on Lanai! The trip to see Lanai with our tour guide Pauline was great! She is a native of Lanai and told us of the history and learned her family went back as far at the 1400's! She was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and truly loves where she comes from on this beautiful island in the Pacific! We had yummy cinnamon buns for breakfast, juice and coffee with fruit on the way. After snorkel time and our tour of Lanai, the crew whipped up the most tastie BBQ chicken, Maui corn on the cob and noodles/veggie stir fry...the salad and rolls to start was great too! We departed to head back to Maui under power but had enough wind to watch the crew put up the sails and we were under wind power for awhile! The Mule cocktail on the way back was the best! We were lucky enough to see a pod of Dolphins and one whale off in the distance as they are coming back to Maui for the season. Their service and love for their jobs showed thru in everything they did! You will not find friendlier more capable folks who are great at their craft...helping you enjoy their passion...the deep blue sea and the Pacific Islands! The only draw back which wasn't their fault was the construction that was going on to build a new dock in the harbor in Lanai. Noisy and distracting at times but would love to see it when its done. Will definitely be back and when we come to live on Maui, I am applying to work with this group of fine people! :) Mahalo! Bonnie, John, Pam and Bob
This was a great day, great cruise and exceptional crew. Each member of the crew showed off their talents and shined. Our captain made us feel safe and made some tough calls due to unusual weather. A large contingent was sea sick while other were skilled divers. The crew brought us home under sail after an experience that was the best we could have. February is whale season, members of the crew shared facts about the whales, the islands history and the sport.
WE HAD A BLAST! If you are interested in trying snorkeling, don't start at the local beach. We tried that and found the waves were to much for us. On this cruise you'll get great service and they know where to go based on the weather and the ocean's conditions. We had a photographer on board, Aaron, and his shots we're fantastic. Don't bother bringing a underwater camera. Aaron took shots of my wife and I swimming together and added a bunch of great shots of us that I didn't know he was taking. We bought the package and it was well worth it. We had our mother in law with us and she had a great time too. Happy Swimming!
To celebrate Sue and my 50th Wedding Anniversary, our daughter booked a sunset dinner cruise on the Trilogy II last evening for us and visiting relatives from England. I say without reservation that it was the absolute best cruise any of us had ever experienced! The boat is incredibly smooth, the food and drink were first class and best of all, the crew were attentive, funny, and informative. Along the way, we experienced whales spouting and breaching, a beautiful sunset and an incredible bright full rainbow that passed through the moon! I know this all sounds too good to be true, but it really did happen. Thank you, Trilogy, you were awesome and made this a trip we will never forget.
The entire experience top to bottom was off the charts. Cool giant catamaran, great staff and picturesque destinations. I'm mean where else can you dive an extinct volcano and then go swim with green turtles through dead hollow lava tubes! You can find prettier coral in the Caribbean and other places - that's a reality - however it'll be hard to surpass the experience my wife and I had. All the boys were professional, courteous and friendly. You felt safe throughout the entire adventure, and they're was good food and drinks. Total package. Compleat blast, I've got a shirt and pics to prove it;)
We went on a classic 50 person tourist trip out to Mokini crater. All aspects of the tour were well executed, but overall it is a mediocre experience. The snorkeling is nothing to write home about and the boat ride is long. The staff did try and succeed at finding turtles for us to see while snorkeling on the way back from the crater. The experience could be improved by not playing loud music while going to/from the crater. Although you go on a sailboat, they use the engines most of the time. For the short time we mailed it was really nice...except from the awful music.
Amazing experience. It's a year later and I'm finally getting around to writing my review. We had such a great experience with Trilogy that booking our...
