We have done tours like this in a lot of different places. This trip is first class. The crew are great. Captain Turtle, Todd, Josh the photographer, and the rest were absolutely wonderful. After your safety, their only other interest is that you have a great time. They are great at pointing out items of interest and finding dolphins to swim with the boat. I have done Snuba before and did so again with Trilogy. It is great and Todd was very patient with one in our group who was having some anxiety. I highly recommend that you try it. We also took the tour around Lanai. It was very informative and we learned a lot about the island. Lunch was very good and served in a covered lanai only used by Trilogy. The sail back was great along with the drinks. The crew did a good job trying to engage all of the guests. Overall, a great trip and worth the money
I went on the Lanai Trip in September, an 8-hour tour which included a visit to Lanai for snorkeling or snuba diving, self-directed hiking or a tour of the Lanai town, a barbecue meal, and a sail back to Lahaina Harbor. The weather was perfect and the crew was fun to share the day with. I left on the sunrise tour - Heartily recommended if you can get up for it. Parking for your rental car is about $10 for the day. The beach we used for snorkeling was a dedicated spot for Trilogy. The gear was provided and it was good. There was plenty of marine life including turtles and even some spinner dolphins who played with us for awhile (while we were sailing into Lanai). I chose a short nature hike to see the "Sweetheart Rock" Puu Pehe after snorkeling, picture below. Food was delicious and plentiful. Cocktail options on the way back were good. In addition to the fee for the trip, you can expect to pay about $40 for additional professional photos (a third party subcontractor) and $75 ish for snuba. Everything else other than shopping on Lanai was included. The only thing I think could be better would be to have a live musician onboard for the sail back (other Trilogy trips I've taken had one). But that said, sailing out to a Moana soundtrack or Pirates of the Caribbean is pretty funny. And a song or two by Brother Iz on a sailboat while sipping a rum drink is pretty awesome.
Our family (two 70 yr olds, and two 40 somethings) did the Discover Lanai trip in March 2018. We had an amazing time! Captain Turtle, First Mate Mario, Lol and the rest of the crew were fabulous. Everyone was incredibly friendly and made sure we were always doing well. We did the 10am sail which was perfect for us, as we aren't early birds. Not only was the food on the boat great, but the crew made sure we wanted for nothing. They were very professional when teaching the group to snorkel (knowing that some people had experience and some didn't) and they had really good water safety with many of the crew out in the water while people snorkeled. The lunch they prepared and served to us on Lanai was delicious. And on the way back, we saw a ton of whales (it was March, but we were really lucky). Even with all the whale watching we did, we still arrived back in Lahaina right on time. Our whole family would definitely recommend this trip. There were also some younger kids (under 10) on the trip and it was good for them, too. We would sail with Trilogy again in a heartbeat!
I have been on many sunset cruises when I go to Maui. This is the first time I went on a Trilogy Cruise and I have to say I was totally blown away. First of...
This is really 4.5 stars and I'll explain the docked half star! First off, my husband and I absolutely enjoyed our sail to Lahaina and you will too. On this...
Trilogy offers a nice and short experience for whale watching. One thing you need to do is tame the expectation here for a bit, and it's nothing that they...
