Had a really nice day with Gavin on the Road to Hana. He had lots of lovely stories to tell us about his family and the island that made us feel like part of the family. He showed us the best banana bread on the island which was delicious! When things got rough on the road he was very calm and helping other drivers on the road making sure everyone was having a safe day. We were treated to a lovely healthy fresh lunch and one of the other tour guides delighted us with a mini concert on his ukulele. The bus itself was very modern and comfortable with air conditioning. Overall a very enjoyable experience and very glad we chose to do this tour rather than a hire car. Gavin was a great tour guide with obvious love for his job.

Had a fantastic experience with our driver Gavin. He was knowledgeable about the road to Hana tour he took us on and a very safe driver who was helpful to other drivers on this at times busy rd. Gavin kept telling us that we were his Ohana (family) for the day and it really felt like it too. Even though it was a long day it was sad it had to come to an end.

We took the sunrise tour. Our guide was neddie she was phenomenal. I was dreading it because it was so early. She brightened my day and made it one of the best days of my life . Me and the wife are so appreciative she has so much knowledge and wisdom to make your experience one you will never forget she will be in our hearts forever. We will be back for another tour we have to go home and make some money so we can come back. She deserves a big aloha and a raise. Thank you so much for your kindness and professionalism.

BUYERS BEWARE**** If you oversleep, the company expects leniency with arrival times asking you to be there 5 minutes early for a 2:30 AM pickup time, and a 10 minute window for late drivers, but they do not offer the same said leniency for their customers. The drivers do not call the rooms EVER. They will pull up late, and if you are not there, they will wait for a couple of minutes then leave. ******IF YOU MISS THIS TOUR THEY WILL KEEP ALL OF THE MONIES FOR THE TOUR EVEN IF YOU DON'T GO****They charge you for food you didn't eat, for gas you didn't use, for a service that you didn't receive. They do NOT offer partial refunds so make sure you are willing to lose your $500 for three people if you are not there on time even though their drivers can be late. The weather was bad when we were there and we were told by many people that it is 50/50 on whether or not the atmosphere will cooperate enough for you to even see the sunrise through the cloud cover on this tour. You can drive up on your own and save about $450!!! You just have to book in advance because they have made the sunrise viewing a complete money game. Also, if you have any issues with the company their marketing manager Mr. Kim will be happy to call you and talk down to you. Sad business model, all about the money; Very unforgiving, condescending, and overpriced. *****Be careful before purchase!!!!!!

We did the sunrise Haleakala tour. I definitely would not recommend it as a way to see the sunrise. It's only about an hour and fifteen minute drive from Kahului which could be easily done in a rental car. The tour takes 6.5 hours due to multiple stops and delays. The sunrise reservation and park entrance fees total only $26.50 per car as opposed to $150/adult for the tour. We had to change shuttle buses halfway here from the hotel shuttle to a larger bus. The included breakfast is very basic and includes a choice of fruit and yogurt, eggs and hash browns with breakfast meat, or pancakes with sausage. The tour guide/driver talks the entire time so if you want to enjoy the views in silence or with music, this is not the way to go. Passengers also cannot sleep on the way up to the summit because the guide talks constantly. You'll also get to the viewing point after most other people so all the good viewing spots are full. If you drive on your own, there are some restaurants you can stop at on the way down. Next time we will save our money and half the day and drive up on our own.
